HOW DO YOU CLAMP EXHAUST PIPES TOGETHER?

The car exhaust pipe plays a role in reducing vibration and noise and extending the life of the exhaust muffler system. The main material of the exhaust pipe is stainless steel. For ordinary cars, since the exhaust gas of the car is under great pressure when leaving the engine, the noise produced by it may make people feel crazy. At this time, the main muffler function is the exhaust pipe, and a exhaust muffler is installed in the interior device, greatly reducing the noise. The main working principle is to divert the airflow through multiple channels, these shunts frictionally impact each other so that the flow velocity gradually decrease. This repeated cycle will eventually allow the exhaust gas to flow out through the exhaust pipe, reducing noise.

At present, when fixing the exhaust pipe, a U-shaped fixing frame is used, and the two feet of the fixing frame are fixed on the chassis. During driving, it often vibrates, which causes the exhaust pipe to become loose and unstable.

The car exhaust system directs engine exhaust from the passenger compartment of the vehicle. The exhaust clips not only hold the exhaust pipes together, they also keep you safe by preventing dangerous carbon monoxide from entering the vehicle. When carbon monoxide accumulates in your vehicle, it displaces oxygen, and high levels of carbon dioxide can cause you to become unconscious and may die from suffocation. Therefore, it is important to properly install the exhaust clips to eliminate carbon monoxide from entering the vehicle.

How to clamp the exhaust pipes together?

1. Wear safety glasses and work gloves.

2. Loosen and remove the hex nut from the U-bolt to disassemble the exhaust clip.

3. Place the saddle on the top of the exhaust pipe connection, slide the U-bolt into the saddle, and screw a hex nut on each leg of the U-bolt. Do not overtighten the hex nut, otherwise it will prevent you from performing the next operation.

4. Apply pressure to the exhaust pipe joint to ensure that the joint is fully seated.

5. Select a socket from the socket group that matches the size of the hex nut, and connect it to a 3 / 8-inch ratchet.

6. Tighten the ratchet.

7. Slide the socket into a hex nut, then tighten the nut until it is tightened.

8. Repeat the process to tighten another hex nut.

9. Check if the first hex nut tightened with ratchet is tight. If the nut is loose, tighten it again. You should notice that the exhaust pipe is pulled in under the pressure of the exhaust clip.

Pull the exhaust clip to make sure it is secure, then follow the same steps for any other exhaust clip you need to install.
